Why We Built SKIN
Adults have almost no rooms designed for participation. We wanted to build one.
Most of the places adults gather were designed for something other than gathering.
Bars optimize for alcohol. Apps optimize for engagement. Social media optimizes for attention. Most entertainment optimizes for spectatorship.
SKIN started as a question: what would a room look like if it was designed for participation? Not performance. Not consumption. Participation.
The answer, so far, involves paint, light, music that moves, artists who ask before they touch, and hosts whose whole job is to make it easy to say yes and easy to say no.
We are still learning. Every experience changes the next one.
