Why Adults Need Play
Play is not a break from being serious. It is how we practice being human with each other.
Somewhere around adolescence most of us stop playing in public. We keep hobbies. We keep sports. But unstructured, curious, low-stakes play with strangers mostly disappears.
That is a loss. Play is how we rehearse trust. It is how we learn what someone means when they say yes, or no, or not yet.
Luminary experiences are built to make play available to adults again, with enough structure that it feels safe and enough freedom that it feels real.
